Ryanair has issued a series of alerts to passengers
Ryanair has issued a series of messages to travellers, including a reminder that “bad behaviour won’t fly”. The budget carrier is renowned for its no-frills travel options, alongside its cheeky social media updates.
Ryanair shared a series of Instagram posts on Thursday, one of which implored passengers not to wander around the aircraft, blast films out loud (without headphones), or leave litter behind. Another post featured a list of “Ryanair red cards”, jokingly suggesting these include flying in jeans, going barefoot during the journey, and clapping upon landing.
Asking about Wi-Fi on board and ‘hogging’ both arm rests also made the list. Elsewhere Ryanair said it is marking its 41st birthday, having been operating since 1985.
To mark the occasion, Ryanair is offering substantial discounts on selected flights. Passengers must book by Sunday, July 19, to secure the savings on flights taking off between now and October 31, 2026.
Flights are available from £14.99, to locations including Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza, Malaga, Berlin, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Bremen, Castellon, Eindhoven, Nantes and Zadar.
Those flying with Ryanair are reminded that the airline recently made the switch to digital boarding passes exclusively. As of November 2025, Ryanair has moved to “100% digital boarding passes via its app, eliminating paper passes to reduce costs, improve service, streamline rebooking, and save 300 tonnes of paper annually”.
Online check-in opens 60 days before departure for those who have bought allocated seats, or 24 hours beforehand for passengers happy to accept a complimentary seat assignment. Regardless of seating preferences, the online check-in window shuts two hours before the flight’s scheduled take-off.
Once online check-in is complete, boarding passes are issued, and travellers must keep a digital copy to hand. Anyone who neglects to check in online will face an airport check-in fee of £55, or the equivalent in euros.
To steer clear of this charge, ensure you have a valid boarding pass before making your way to the airport. Passengers without a smartphone or tablet can get a free boarding pass from Ryanair, as long as they’ve completed online check-in before arriving at the airport.
Ryanair will send passengers a reminder to check in online shortly before their scheduled departure.
