Members of The Hill Of The Ravens Scooter Club were on the right track with their Charity Easter Egg Run.
The club met on Saturday, April 16 at Torphichen Community Centre car park and although the weather this year wasn’t as warm as last year, it was still dry – not that anything would have stopped this crew of Super Scooterists from doing exactly as they had intended!
The team met some old and new friends, who included ‘Gadget’ Garry McCabe of 2Fast2Photo, their official photographer.
Also taking part were the following clubs: All Mod Cons Scooter Club – Livingston, Falkirk Steeple Scooter Club, Falkirk Scooter Club, Millions Like Us Scooter Club (Denny) and The Unwanted Scooter Club (Airdrie).
Lord Robert Rae Sutherland of Glencairn, from the club said around 30 riders set off, continuing: “Our first stop was at Royal Scot Court in Bathgate where we were met with smiling faces from residents and visitors, others were out chatting to the collective, they were even taking photos on their smart phones and iPads, we said our farewells and headed back into the town just to make the same impact as we did last year.
“Our next stop was St John’s Hospital where our donations for the children’s, oncology and mental health wards were accepted by the security and porter team, who helped us out massively by giving us plenty of room both last year and this.
“This also allowed us to give them eggs as a token of appreciation, and to a couple of kids who were visiting and to a young lady who was being transferred.
“Our next stop was at Redmill Nursing Home in East Whitburn, where unfortunately we had arrived at meal time, so only the staff were able to come out this year, but it didn’t stop the residents from watching us from the windows as we’re told they were really excited about us coming, but again the early start messed that up.
“Our penultimate drop was at Weavers Court in Whitburn. On finishing, we had residents at their windows waving and thanking us.
“Next was to our final drop of the day at Forth Valley Hospital Children’s Ward. The nursing staff came out to meet us (after we found the correct car park) photos were taken and the staff were very grateful.
“The group then broke off to go for a coffee or head home in order to get ready for the evenings entertainment PH2 supplied by Millions Like Us.
“What a brilliant end to a brilliant weekend, congratulations also to one of our admin, Stuart who found the love of his life in Susan and were married on the Friday so couldn’t make the Saturday.”
