Stewart was once again hiding in a production truck after being banned from the national stadium
Mischievous Michael Stewart appeared to defy his Hampden car park ban as he went undercover in the Premier Sports production truck before the second Scottish Cup semi-final.
But the outspoken pundit wasn’t involved in the TV broadcast after being banned from ‘the footprint of Hampden.’
Stewart has been banished from the National Stadium due to his outspoken criticisms of SFA officials with Premier Sports forced to get creative to involve him from the production truck during Dunfermline’s penalty shootout victory over Falkirk yesterday.
After being denied access to the stadium, he attempted to film from the car park – but even that access was revoked before Celtic‘s Sunday afternoon clash with St Mirren.
Stewart though appears to have persevered. He tweeted a video of himself in a production truck which appears to have been filmed in the Hampden car park, with Lesser Hampden visible in the background.
He tweeted: “Behind the scenes @HampdenPark,” followed by a disguised emoji.
Speaking during TV coverage, which featured Charlie Mulgrew, Neil Lennon and Jim Goodwin in Stewart’s absence, host Emma Dodds said: “He (Stewart) has now been banned from the footprint of Hampden. It was our intention to have him with us here as part of our show today but that is not possible.
“Here is a statement on behalf of Premier Sports: ‘The SFA have written to Premier Sports to say that Michael is not welcome in the broadcast truck situated in the car park at Hampden. Premier Sports see this as a direct attempt to censor one of our valued team.
“As a broadcast partner of the SFA, we are very disappointed by the decision. Michael won’t be a part of our coverage today but we will welcome him back soon.”
