Derek McInnes admits Rangers will have to offload players before they can ramp up his Ibrox rebuild, writes Andy Newport in Spain.
The new Gers gaffer has already added six new faces to his squad this summer, with his old Hearts battler Cammy Devlin the latest to arrive.
But McInnes is well aware his side is still lacking in several key areas and wants to push ahead with moves for further signings.
However, with 28 first team players currently on the books – including 10 central midfielders – McInnes acknowledges he’ll likely have to clear space before he can add again.
John Souttar and Danilo could be the first to depart after both men were allowed to skip this week’s training camp in southern Spain to explore moves away.
But with uncertainty also surrounding the future of Belgium World Cup star Nico Raskin, it appears that moves for the likes of £8.5million-rated Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl, Partizan Belgrade starlet Vanja Dragojevic and perhaps Lewis Ferguson will have to wait for now.
But McInnes is confident he’ll get the quality additions he’s after sooner or later.
