Kris Boyd insists Rangers should launch a move for Hibs hitman Kieron Bowie.
Gers are closing in on the signing of Bojan Miovski after offloading Hamza Igamane to Lille in a bumper £10.4million deal.
But with Cyriel Dessers also attracting interest, Russell Martin could be in the market for another marksman.
Boyd believes Scotland cap Bowie, 22, would be the perfect solution but fears his price tag could be a major stumbling block.
He told Best New Bingo Sites : “Kieron Bowie has made a brilliant start to the season, and I am always an advocate for Rangers signing young Scottish talent.
“So I would be surprised if they didn’t look at bringing him in. Rangers haven’t done enough of this type of recruitment in recent years.
“Rangers will certainly be keeping an eye on such a promising player, but his price tag will have inflated a bit now after such a good start to the season for him.
“Hibs are not in any financial trouble. They do not need to sell Kieron. But I think he would be an exciting signing for Rangers if they did get him, and they definitely need a striker before the window is closed.”
Meanwhile Boyd has warned under-fire Gers boss Martin that he can’t afford to fall nine points behind Celtic this weekend.

While Hoops fans blame the Parkhead board, Rangers punters have pointed the finger at Martin after a dismal start to his tenure in charge.
Prominent Light Blues fan groups are already calling for Martin to be axed and Boyd believes an Old Firm defeat would be unthinkable.
He said: “Celtic will be thinking they want to come into the Old Firm at the weekend and stamp their authority over Rangers and potentially have one hand on the title before the end of August.
“Rangers have performed well in these games recently, but this is definitely a more important fixture for Russell Martin rather than Brendan Rodgers.
“Whatever happens, Rangers must find a positive result. Otherwise, the pressure will just intensify on Russell Martin and his players. It’s a huge game that could potentially get the fans off their back if they win it.”
