Samsung launched a new range of Android tablets earlier this month, including the budget-friendly Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
Samsung is giving Apple a run for its money with a new Android tablet that customers can snag for £9, along with a bonus worth nearly £210. Earlier this month, the South Korean tech brand unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
Typically priced at £329 when bought directly from Samsung, it’s now available for £9 when spreading the cost with Sky Mobile. Additionally, Sky is throwing in a free set of Galaxy Buds3 FE worth £129 with orders placed by September 24, and customers can also claim a free Smart Book Cover worth £79.99 from Samsung.
The Tab S10 Lite features a 10.9″ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and SGS-certified blue light, ensuring fluid motion while also helping to minimise eye strain. It comes packed with a host of Galaxy AI features that can answer queries in real time and remove objects from photos.
This model boasts 128GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, up to 16 hours of video playback and ‘Super Fast Charging’. Samsung also pre-installs the tablet with Android 15 and promises up to seven generations of OS updates, plus seven years of security updates, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Samsung is even outdoing Apple by including an S Pen stylus at no extra charge, while Apple typically charges around £100 for its Apple Pencil. One important factor to bear in mind with Sky’s £9 deal is that it’s tied to a 48-month contract, with the option to switch to a new device after 36 months.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite

Sky Mobile shoppers can get the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite for £9 when spreading the cost, plus a pair of free Galaxy Buds3 FE and Smart Book Cover.
The price includes the tablet and a 100MB data allowance, but those wishing to use it without WiFi can upgrade to data options such as 1GB for £1 or 10GB for £10. For those who prefer to buy outright, Amazon is offering a £50 discount on the same model, reducing it from £329 to £279 with an automatically applied coupon at checkout.
However, despite setting an October 8 deadline to claim the discount, Amazon has said it could be cancelled ‘at any time’. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is now in direct competition with Apple’s 11″ iPad A16, the latest entry-level model that’s currently £309 at Amazon or £10.50 at Sky.
In addition to Samsung’s budget-friendly tablet, a new pair of more premium devices have been launched: the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra. These models are the brand’s most powerful tablets yet, with Sky offering them from £25 and £34 respectively.
However, Henry Burrell, Deputy Technology Editor at the Daily Express, believes that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite ‘beats’ Apple’s iPad in several ways. He said: “The Tab S10 Lite has an almost identically sized display to the cheapest iPad.”
“Where the Tab S10 Lite one-ups the iPad is with its 90Hz refresh rate, which means text, apps and games will scroll smoother than on the iPad’s 60Hz screen. That’s paired with a large 8,000mAh battery, which Samsung says will last for 16 hours of video playback (better than the iPad’s quoted 10 hours), a slim design with a frame that’s 6.6mm thick, plus an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP on the front.”
However, Henry also said that the overabundance of Galaxy AI features was ‘a little hard to ignore’.
He continued: “Perhaps best of all, the Tab S10 Lite comes with Samsung’s S Pen stylus in the box – that’s something you can’t say of Apple, which sells its Apple Pencil pens separately for costs of about £100.”
