Estate agency Rettie & Co has launched a new financial services business.
Rettie Financial Services will extend the firm’s service offering from buying, selling, letting and developing property to include mortgages, insurance and personal protection products.
It has appointed Bob Duncan as managing director, who will lead and develop the new division.
He joins Rettie Financial Services having held similar roles at DJ Alexander and Simpson & Marwick.
Duncan has already started building a team of financial advisers who will be working with him, including Paul Banyard and Chloe Heenan, who have been recruited as the first employees of a full team of mortgage and protection advisors.
He commented: “We have access to more than 90 lenders and over 12,000 mortgages and our team of certified mortgage advisors will support clients with a bespoke service that will support them with the next step of their journey.”
Simon Rettie, managing director of Rettie & Co, said: “Mortgages and financial services were a logical next step for our business as part of our growth plans, as we have regularly referred our clients elsewhere during the property buying process.
“By bringing this new service offering in-house we can ensure that the full property journey, including mortgages, personal protection and insurance are upheld with the same attention to detail and first class service for clients that Rettie & Co is renowned for delivering.”
Rettie & Co has been in business for 29 years, with 14 branches covering Scotland, the North of England and London.
Rettie Financial Services is a trading name of Mortgage Advice Bureau, based in Derby, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
