The Secret Herb Garden and Secret Garden Distillery have been brought to market.
The gin distillery, botanical herb garden, shop, bistro, events venue and five-bedroom house – with private gardens and orchard – are being sold by Savills.
This property is set within seven and a half acres at the foot of the Pentland Hills Regional Park, around 1.5 miles from Edinburgh’s city boundary.
The current owners established the business in 2012 and it now encompasses the only Scottish gin distillery where the botanicals are grown, harvested and hand-dried on site.
The business includes trademarks, stock and licence for the events enterprise – currently let on a four year lease – with planning permission already grated for a distillery extension, including new toilet facilities, visitor centre and offices.
Luke French, associate director for rural sales at Savills, said: “The Secret Herb Garden is just the sort of opportunity that has been catching attention of savvy investors during the pandemic – from life-style buyers to corporates.
“Having a ready-made reputation, idyllic location, established footfall, and of course Herb Cottage – a lovely residential property – thrown in, will only exacerbate demand.”
Katherine Wigham, an associate with Savills’ leisure and trade team, added: “Voted as one of Scotland’s top 10 wedding venues, the property benefits from planning consent for a maximum of 20 weddings per year and 40 dinning events, all of which are facilitated by the café operator.”
Separately, Savills has sold Fonab Castle in Pitlochry to Cornwall-based special purpose vehicle Fonab SPV, for an undisclosed sum.
The five-star hotel and spa resort is a Category B listed baronial mansion house, dating back to 1892.
It has 43 guest bedrooms and suites, along with a spa and fine dining restaurant.
