A head teacher has been filmed apparently holding a pupil by the scruff of his neck.
Mobile phone footage taken inside Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle in Penygroes, Gwynedd, shows strategic head Neil Foden seemingly holding the pupil in a classroom with one hand on the shoulder and the other near the back of the boy’s neck
The schoolboy can be seen attempting to “shake off” the teacher as other pupils gather to watch and while another member of staff stands in the classroom doorway.

Seconds later the student is seen freeing himself from the head teacher. Mr Foden then appears to try to tug him back but the boy breaks free and is then seen running down a set of stairs followed by other students.
There is nothing in the footage to indicate what led to Mr Foden apparently grab the pupil.
The school declined to comment but Gwynedd Council confirmed it was aware of the footage. A spokesman said: “The safety and wellbeing of all Gwynedd pupils and staff is the priority for us as an authority.
“We are aware of this video and the school are dealing with the matter in accordance with their own internal procedures and the relevant national guidelines.”
The video has been shared widely on Facebook.
Mr Foden hit the headlines last year when he sent a letter out to parents warning them that pupils more than a penny in debt wouldn’t be given a a school meal.
That prompted an angry backlash and prompted a dad blogger to offer to clear the £1,800 owed by parents at the time.
Mr Foden went on to claim he had been “thrown under the bus” for enforcing council policy while the council apologised.
