He has been ‘immediately excluded’ by the health board as investigations continue
An NHS doctor working at a Welsh hospital has been arrested on suspicion causing an underage girl to engage in sexual activity. The doctor working at Morriston Hospital in Swansea has been “immediately excluded”, the health board confirmed.
South Wales Police were called to a property in Sketty, Swansea, at around 8pm on Tuesday, following a report from a self-proclaimed paedophile hunting group.
The man remains in police custody as police investigations continue. A spokesperson for Swansea Bay University Health Board said: “We can confirm that police have been made aware of a video circulating on social media involving a member of our staff.
“Due to the serious nature of the allegations in the video he has been immediately excluded while investigations continue. Any further inquiries should be directed to South Wales Police.”
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “Officers were called to Rhyd yr Helyg, Sketty, Swansea at around 7.50pm on Tuesday, February 3, following a report of a man having engaged in child sex offences.
“A 52-year-old man from Sketty, Swansea was arrested on suspicion of causing/inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity. The man remains in police custody.”
