Daniel Farke has only just led Leeds back to the EPL promised land – but he could see himself out of a job
Alan Brazil has namechecked Brendan Rodgers as a potential next Leeds United manager and admitted ‘Celtic fans will hate me for this’.
Daniel Farke has only just led Leeds back to the riches of the English Premier League after securing a top two finish in the Championship as he now battles Burnley to be crowned champions.
However, reports emerged that Rangers‘ new prospective owners could pull the trigger on the former Norwich City boss – despite his success in the dugout this season.
That has sparked speculation over potential names who could fill the role at Elland Road with Celtic-daft Brazil posing the question to fellow talkSPORT breakfast show host Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking on air, Brazil said: “Here’s one for you right, Celtic fans will hate me for this but what about Brendan Rodgers at Leeds? Would you go with that one?
“Brendan is going to win the Treble and he might think ‘I’ve done it again, do I want a move’.
“We are talking about the Tottenham job could come up as well. I am not 100 per cent sure that Brendan will be Celtic manager.”
Former Parkhead gaffer Ange Postecoglou is another boss under pressure with reports suggesting he could be out of a job – even if he WINS the Europa League.
The 59-year-old has endured a campaign to forget in the EPL with his side sitting 16th in the table having tasted 18 defeats.
Talk over his future reached Rangers hero Ally McCoist during his snooker commentary debut on TNT Sports on Wednesday night in an exchange with John Higgins.
The Wizard of Wishaw asked: “I’ve just seen reports that [Daniel] Levy is trying to get Brendan Rodgers to go to Tottenham Hotspur – is there any truth in that rumour?”
McCoist replied: “John, I’ll be honest with you mate, I’m trying to get him to go anywhere.
“I don’t care, he can go to Tottenham Hotspur, I just want him south. Is that okay?
“Just to clarify that in case you thought I was anti-Tottenham – I’m pro-Tottenham. I want him anywhere.”
Tottenham could yet qualify for the Champions League next season with Europa League success..
Ange and Co face Bodo/Glimt in the semi-final with the winner facing Athletic Bilbao or Manchester United.
