The Price Tag star has asked fans to “bear with her” after she was forced to postpone her upcoming UK tour.
Singer Jessie J has postponed her upcoming UK tour and cancelled her US tour amid her ongoing health battle. The chart-topping songstress revealed she will be having a second operation as part of her treatment for breast cancer.
The 37-year-old, known for hits including Bang Bang and Price Tag, announced in early June that she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer and that she would be undergoing treatment.
The star was all set to perform various shows across the UK and Europe in October as well as concerts in the US in November. However, she said in an Instagram post that the dates have now been rescheduled or cancelled.
In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, August 38, Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, said: “Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked.”
The UK and Europe dates have been postponed until April 2026, the singer said, meaning her show at Glasgow’s SEC Armadillo will now take place on April 14, 2026. There is still some tickets left, according to Ticketmaster’s website.
However, the US tour has currently been cancelled.
The performer conceded that “it is what it is” and apologised to fans before expressing her emotions.
“I feel frustrated and sad, but also it is what it is, and I need to be better,” she admitted to her 14.2 million followers.
“I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make. So I’m postponing the tour till next year.”
She asked fans for understanding and to “bear with us” while her team arrange new dates for her stateside tour.
“It’s something that I want to do, but when the time is right,” she went on. “So it might be a little later in the year. It might be a little earlier. I don’t know yet.
“You guys know how much I want to do all of it, but I just can’t. And I have to be realistic.”
The Essex chanter, who shot to fame following the success of her debut single Do It Like A Dude back in 2011, underwent her first breast cancer surgery in June. Her hair “has been falling out like crazy” since her op, she said.
Jessie has battled with ill-health throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, suffering a minor stroke aged 18 and having briefly gone deaf in 2020.
The singer-songwriter has had three number one songs in the UK singles chart with Domino, Price Tag and Bang Bang.
She was awarded four Mobo awards in 2011 including best UK act, best newcomer, best song for Do It Like A Dude and best album with Who You Are, and won the Brit Award for rising star in 2011.
