EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Husam Zomlot will speak on Sunday afternoon after being invited by the SNP.
Palestine’s top diplomat in the UK will address the SNP conference this weekend as hopes rise of a peace deal with Israel.
Dr. Husam Zomlot, the state’s ambassador to the UK, has been given a top speaking slot on the conference floor.
It comes as President Trump’s peace initiative led to Israel and Hamas agreeing to an initial phase of ending the fighting in Gaza.
Hamas terrorists massacred around 1200 people, mostly Israeli citizens, in an attack two years ago that was condemned around the world.
Tens of thousands of people in Gaza were then killed following an air and ground campaign by Israel.
The Labour Government recently recognised Palestinian statehood and Dr Zomlot will address SNP delegates on Sunday after party depute leader Keith Brown speaks.

SNP leader John Swinney has been a supporter of a two state solution and he attended an event at the Palestinian Mission in London after the UK Government’s decision on recognition:
“I have been clear that the UK’s recognition of the State of Palestine should have been unconditional, but this decision goes some way towards acknowledging the UK’s solemn and historic responsibility towards all peoples of the region.
“While this announcement is welcome news, this is just the first step towards establishing the two-state solution.
“A two-state solution is the only option that can provide peace, prosperity and security for both the State of Palestine and the State of Israel.
He added at the time: “Hamas must play no role in the future of the Palestinian state.”
He also recently expressed sympathy to the Jewish community after the Manchester terror attack.
He said: “The horror of the violence inflicted upon the Jewish community with the Heaton Park attack is utterly unimaginable. I cannot stress enough my sympathy with those families and their friends who have lost their loved ones, and my solidarity with the Jewish community in Scotland and across the whole of the United Kingdom.
“I can assure our Jewish community that we will do everything necessary to ensure their continued safety, and additional security and policing is in place around synagogues and Jewish community venues.”
