The airline hopes the new service will make check-in a smoother experience for passengers.
Jet2 passengers travelling from several Scottish airports are being urged to follow new check-in rules. Travellers flying from Glasgow and Edinburgh will now be able to check in for their flights and drop off their luggage the day before.
The budget airline is now offering the twilight check-in service at 11 airports across the UK. Bosses hope the new process will save passengers valuable time on the day of their departure, meaning they can walk straight to security without having to wait in long check-in queues.
Previously, Jet2 passengers checking in luggage would have had to go to the airport at least two hours before their scheduled flight to obtain their boarding passes.
But the new process will now mean they can relax with fewer worries before heading on their holidays.
But Jet2 only offers the service at select UK airports and is limited to passengers with flights departing before midday. So, if you have a morning flight booked and the airport you’re flying from runs the twilight service, you can drop off your suitcases between 4.30pm and 9pm the evening before, reports the Express.
As such, passengers get to bypass airport check-in on the day of departure and head straight for security when they get to the airport the following day.
Jet2 provides the service at the following 11 airports across the UK, seven days a week:
- Birmingham
- Bristol
- East Midlands
- Edinburgh
- Glasgow International
- Leeds Bradford
- Liverpool
- London Luton
- London Stansted
- Manchester
- Newcastle
Passengers must check-in online any time from 28 days and no later than 24 hours before their flight via the Jet2 website or the app.
One person in a party can drop off up to six people’s bags, but passengers must bring all boarding passes and passports to the twilight check-in.
Some UK airports offer free, limited-time parking for customers while using twilight check-in so you won’t have to incur any additional costs to use the service.
