This case emerged after a video circulated widely on social media. In that recording shared by Gaffar Yakınca’s account, Ihor appeared to be injured and begged his family to send ransom money amounting to US$10 million.
“Mama, help me. You took the US$10 million they asked for. Please return the US$10 million,” said Ihor in a frightened tone.
The kidnapping incident is said to have occurred on Saturday (21/02/2026) evening in the jurisdiction of the South Kuta Police, Bali. Since then, Ihor’s whereabouts have not been known for certain and his case has become a hot topic of discussion.

Police Hunt for Perpetrators, Raids Tightened

“The identity of the victim who was reported missing is known as Ihor Komarav, a 28 year old man, a Ukrainian citizen, with passport number GF741959,” said Suardita in her statement, Monday (23/02/2026).
As a quick step, the authorities carried out Operation 21 or a security and public order (kamtibmas) raid. The examination focused on two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles to narrow the perpetrator’s movement.
The raid was held at the Gianyar Police border, precisely at the Jalan Raya Tulikup–Sidan intersection. A total of 120 cars and 50 motorbikes were checked, but no party suspected of being involved in the kidnapping case was found.
