Shoppers can buy two and get a third free
Shoppers who are already planning their festive purchases can start making significant savings from now on. This week, Tesco has launched a ‘3 for 2’ toy sale and halved the price of its guaranteed non-drop Christmas trees.
With many families beginning their Christmas shopping in November, this move will help people manage their pre-Christmas expenses. The ‘3 for 2’ toy sale allows customers to mix and match across leading toy brands – from top Christmas must-haves to classic favourites and stocking fillers – making it easier to tick off multiple gifts during the weekly shop.
The sale includes brands such as: Hot Wheels, Barbie, Paw Patrol, Minecraft, Early Learning Centre and Squishmallows. The toys have been chosen for Tesco by toy experts at The Entertainer.
Some of the supermarket’s top sellers this year, like The Traitors board game, Hot Wheels Speedway Frenzy, Bluey Beach Cabin, 5 Surprise My Mini Baby, and X Shot Excel Blaster, will be included in the sale.
Meanwhile, the half-price Christmas tree offer will see some of Europe’s most popular Christmas trees* reduced to as little as £15. The Nordman Fir trees are among the most popular at Christmas because they are guaranteed non-drop and typically cost around £50-£60 each at garden centres and from roadside sellers.
The Tesco Nordmann Fir trees on sale this year will be 160-190cm tall. The half-price Christmas trees are as follows:
The Potted Nordmann Fir trees, standing at a height of 80-110cm, are housed in an 11-litre pot. The Finest Christmas tree, on the other hand, comes with lights and is nestled in a wicker basket.
Tesco’s Christmas Tree buyer, Hugh Kenney-Herbert, revealed: “We started stocking these non-drop Christmas trees a few years ago and they became so popular and sold out so quickly that we keep having to increase our order.
“In fact, the launch of the sale triggers an event we now call Christmas Tree Saturday – it’s the day when increasing numbers of shoppers now go out to buy their trees.
“Customers have told us that they love getting into the spirit of Christmas as early as possible and having a tree up in their living room helps create that seasonal magic.
“By the end of November last year nearly all our stock had gone – this year we’ve brought in nearly 50 per cent more as we know how popular they are.”
The Nordmann Fir trees are cultivated for the supermarket by Europe’s largest Christmas tree wholesalers, Needlefresh, located in Foxhill, near Swindon in Wiltshire.
The company, which boasts a team of dedicated growers across the UK, sells 800,000 pot-grown trees every year. The 3 for 2 toy sale runs until December 4.
