People are only just discovering you can swim at this sculpture park in Edinburgh

A Scottish TikToker has unveiled what they believe to be ‘the most unique swimming spot in Scotland’ after discovering you can enjoy a wild dip at Jupiter Artland in Edinburgh.
The award-winning sculpture garden in the Capital first opened in 2009 and is known for its incredible carved landscape artwork which is surrounded by various ponds and water features.
However, despite the 100-acre estate bringing in more than 100,000 visitors per year, many are only just discovering you can swim in the water separating the sculptures and admire the outdoor art from a completely different point of view.
There are two outdoor swimming spots at Jupiter Artland, one of which is considered ‘wild swimming’ and the other is in a heated pool.
Every Thursday evening and during the weekend throughout spring and summer, guests can swim in the Charles Jenks’ Cells of Life sculpture which is widely considered to be one of the most famous features in Jupiter Artland.
The spot is technically considered wild swimming as it isn’t heated and Pippa advised there is a little bit of ‘natural algae’ inside.
The pond is also rather deep so is only suitable for strong swimmers.
To make the experience seem even more appealing, the water is also naturally dyed a beautiful shade of blue but Pippa has insisted the colour doesn’t stain your swimming gear.
TikTok creator Pippa shared her experience at the Edinburgh attraction as she admitted: “To be honest, I had no idea it was swimmable until now. This is one of my favourite things I have done in Edinburgh all summer.”
Those who like the idea of a swim but are worried about being cold or want to bring the kids along too can enjoy the Joana Vasconcelo’s Gateway instead, which is more of a purpose-built outdoor pool.
Unlike the other pool, this one is heated and is open from 10 to 11am and 4pm to 5pm daily with two public bathing sessions of up to 12 people permitted during each slot.
Pippa added: “It’s right by their onsite food spot for a bite to eat after and has shower and changing facilities close by too.”
Scots in the comments were left gobsmacked by this revelation as one replied: “I’ve been there it’s so cool but I didn’t know you could swim.”
A second chimed in: “This is so cool, I had no idea you could swim.”
Meanwhile a third enthusiastically added: “YOU CAN SWIM THERE???”
